Today in USA Today:
(((NEW YORK (AP) — "Joe the Plumber" is lashing out at the media for analyzing his personal life since he suddenly became a focal point of the presidential race last week.

Joe Wurzelbacher, a plumber from Holland, Ohio, told Mike Huckabee on his Fox News talk show Saturday that he is upset by the attention and has been unable to work with reporters crowded on his front lawn.

"The media's worried about whether I've paid my taxes, they're worried about any number of silly things that have nothing to do with America," Wurzelbacher told the former Republican presidential hopeful on his show, Huckabee.)))

But McCain won't stop bringing his name up in his rally's - so how is that helping Joe? Or is he just using him for political gain? So who is using Joe - Obama or McCain?

In the Raliegh News and Observer:

(((In Concord, McCain delivered a 30-minute speech interrupted by chants of "U-S-A, U-S-A!" and a roar at every mention of vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin. He pledged to rein in spending, explore new energy sources and help troubled homeowners by buying up bad mortgages.

He invoked Joe the Plumber nearly a dozen times.

Wurzelbacher, an aspiring small-business owner, had asked Obama on a campaign stop this month whether his tax plan would hurt him. Obama gave a detailed explanation of his proposal and said by giving tax breaks to more people, it would help small business.

"Right now, everybody's so pinched ... ," Obama told him. "And I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody."

McCain has pounced. His campaign passed out posters that read, "I'm Joe the Plumber" and "Let Joe keep his dough."

It wouldn't matter if McCain never said Joe the Plumber again.

Can you give me an example of the attacks on this man's "personal life". I don't consider reporting that he owes slightly over a thousand in back taxes to be an attack on his personal life.

If he's so upset about it, why is he still giving interviews to the media ?

Except that he appeared on a talk show to say he is tired of the attention!
"Joe Wurzelbacher, a plumber from Holland, Ohio, told Mike Huckabee on his Fox News talk show Saturday that he is upset by the attention"

And who exactly keeps bringing his name up? McCain: "He invoked Joe the Plumber nearly a dozen times"

Kind of knew you would blame this on Obama, but McCain is the one who made this man the issue in the debate and on the campaign trail. So how exactly does he show his compassion for this man?

And how upset can Joe really be since "On Sunday, McCain was to travel to Ohio, where he might appear with Wurzelbacher"

The question of the day is = Can we believe either one of them?

So you have no problems with the media reporting about his income and personal finances?

You think the attempts to smear him should have shut him up? I say GOOD FOR HIM for not shutting up. Way to go, Joe!

He hasn't said WHO he plans to vote for. You can bet he WON'T be voting for Obama, though. Did you know there were 13 people running this year? Is that some sort of record?

"Then why do you have a problem with the media reporting about Obama's personal life with Rezko, Ayers, and Wright?"

When did I say that ?

Well I watched it but I still can't see how this is Obama's fault. McCain is the one who made him 'famous' and continues to invoke his name at every turn. Huckabee is the one who asked him to come on the show - and he accepted. So again - how is this Obama's fault?

Obama did answer his question by the way and then went on his way. Had McCain not brought Joe up that would probably have been the end of it. If McCain dropped it now that would probably be the end of it. But he keeps stoking it - why? For political gain. So who is really keeping the heat on Joe? McCain.
