Fannie & Freddie....Remember

In the last couple of months, there have been a number of threads where posters have contended that if only those durned Democrats hadn't blocked legislation introduced by Chuck Hagel (and later signed onto by McCain), that Fannie & Freddie wouldn't have suffered such incredible losses.

But did you manage to tie it into Fannie and Freddie? Because I think that was what she was asking - based on the previous posts in that thread? You didn't provide reasons for the 0.2% rise in poverty in 30 odd years.

((((Interesting how cutting taxes led to a higher national debt:))))

Oh yes, the great Bush43 mistake...If he had a better understanding of the economy, he would have realized that less revenue would lead to more debt...the rich got richer, and the poor got poorer.

I don't think the two GSE's in the form of Fannie and Freddie were always a bad concept, but as with

Great article.

I am not convinced Fannie and Freddie were really the problem here. They were not the ones that generated the vast majority of the bad debt.

Nonetheless, the Republicans have blamed the crisis on Fannie and Freddie and more specifically Democrats killing Republican reform efforts. Sopal, your article completely and totally calls bulldong to reveal yet another self-serving, disgusting Republican lie.

What a surprise that the same Republican characters who were involved in other Republican scandals, both big (Abramoff) and small-time (Craig, Vitter), were in the toilet vortex of this scandal! And look at that a cool quarter of a mil for the Republican Convention - it goes to show the party is a bad apple that is rotten rotten rotten to the core.

What is far more disappointing is the extent to which McCain campaign officials were smack in the middle of this. $2 million is a substantial sum for McCain's lobbyist campaign leaders, even for lobbyists! It takes the cake that these same people running McCain's campaign not just tried to bury this, but in fact to blame it on the Democrats.

Fox-Republican officials and politicians are slime. This is just more proof. Everyone, please let the Fops know what you think of them this election! Democrats, Indepenents and even Republicans, I appeal to you. For the good of America and for the good of the Republican Party itself, please make the fops sit a few out on the sidelines until they get their act together. We need to send a message to politicians - no matter what their affiliation - that we Americans will not tolerate this type of conduct from our trusted leaders spending our money.
