A special appearance by Gov. Sarah Palin has lifted NBC's "Saturday Night Live" to its best overnight numbers in 14 years.
According to Nielsen's metered-market results, repping 56 of the nation's biggest cities, the Peacock latenight program averaged a 10.7 rating/24 share -- a whopping 161% improvement vs. the show's October average of a year ago (4.1/10).
Rapping isn't like singing: you can have a natural talent for singing which would allow you to hear a melody only once or twice and be able to do a credible-to-outstanding job of singing it, if you want to. Rapping requires a skill with timing, vocal phrasing and rhythm that - while some people seem to have a gift for it - is far more of a learned skill that being able to carry a tune is. On NO account should ANYONE who doesn't wish to look like a complete idiot attempt to rap in front of an audience if they've had no prior experience with it. I don't blame Palin at all for not wanting to do that. I think MOST of us would look like idiots - I'm pretty sure I would (and yes, I have a tolerable singing voice, LOL).
This is why some of the worst rapping in the universe (fair warning: this clip may melt whatever speakers you have hooked up to your computer, with the sheer overpowering force of its awfulness) was Warren Beatty attempting to rap in "Bulworth." I know that part of the gag in that scene was that he's supposed to be this older, white doofus who's not hip in any way....but man, talk about your type-casting, in this instance, LOL.

Not being a Palin hater here, but she probably couldn't do it. That's a lot harder than it looks and Amy Poehler did a great job of it.
Overall I thought her appearance was rather lame, I expected better.
Actually...um...WRONG AGAIN! Big surprise. LOL!

Dude! You think the New York Times is "lib propaganda!"
Maybe you'd better define what you believe to be "credible sources" before you ask someone else to produce quotes form them.
I wouldn't sing OR rap on national tv.
