Just a thought....during Obama's time in Senate, he voted 96 times to raise taxes. He has never voted to cut taxes. But somehow, he has convinced everyone in America that he is going to cut taxes for 95% of Americans.
Do you trust his word or his track record? Just curious.
The rates would not be 1990s rates, he would use payroll increases on the top group to double the impact of repealing the Bush tax cuts, and he will keep Bush tax cuts for most Americans (guess he's not so against Bush policies after all) and he will introduce a stimulus package (another Bush era economic policy that he'll keep). Obama's policies will have the lower earning half of the nation paying much less in tax than they did in the 1990s.
The schedule you linked is only one part of what they have contributed to charity, from his site:
"Charitable Contributions:
Senator McCain donates his royalties from his books to charitable organizations. This sum has totaled over $1,800,000 since 1998 when he signed his first book deal. Senator McCain's book income of $256,898 for 2006 and 2007 is comprised of earnings for Faith of My Fathers, Worth the Fighting For, Why Courage Matters, Character is Destiny, and Hard Call.
Beginning in 1991, Senator McCain has also donated the increase in his Senate salary for that year and each subsequent year to charity because he opposed the Congressional pay increase at that time and pledged not to accept the pay raises. The cumulative total of these donations is over $450,000.
2006
In 2006, Senator and Mrs. McCain donated $129,390 from community assets to charity, of which Senator McCain's one-half allocation was $64,695. This is 19% of his adjusted gross income.
2007
In 2007, Senator and Mrs. McCain donated $210,933 from community assets to charity, of which Senator McCain's one-half allocation is $105,467. This is 27.2% of his adjusted gross income for the year.
Most of Senator McCain's contributions were made to the John and Cindy McCain Family Foundation, which makes direct contributions to charities. The Foundation's tax returns for 2006 and 2007, which include a list of the charities to which Senator and Mrs. McCain contributed through the McCain Family Foundation in 2006 and 2007"
I think being a teacher is an awesome trait. I have family members who teach. One of the main things I remember about their description of the job is that they are now more social workers than teachers with the job. Pretty cool thing you folks do. I know that teachers, like most state and federal government workers, are Democrats. As one sitting on the outside, look at the hardships teachers face every day, unbelievable their unions have become so militant in failing the teachers.
Yup... I don't really wish taxes to be cut, I wish tax rates restored to pre-Bush levels. There are a lot of things I relish Obama un-doing, including re-establishing support for women's health care clinics in needy areas of the world.

<<<That's what the government does.
She also spends considerable time doing charitable work, does she not? In 2007 her income was $4 million and she paid just over $1 million in income tax. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/10/17/cindy_mccain_releases_2007_tax.html

In my book, Bush is directly to blame for making problems worse in the schools with his ridiculous No Child Left Behind.
