McCains Swings Attack Machine On Powell

When asked on MSNBC's "Morning Joe" program Monday for his reaction to Colin Powell's endorsement of Barack Obama, John McCain campaign manager Rick Davis called into question the political acumen of the former Joint Chiefs chairman and Secretary of State.

"Look, I doubt if Colin Powell is equipped to do a whole lot of political prognostication," Davis said, dismissively, adding: "That's what you guys do, right?" http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/20/mccain-camp-manager-colin_n_136095.html

The McCain crew would smear their own mothers for a couple of polling point increases. Who is next? David Petraeus? Petraeus seems to me like he's more in line with Obama's Iraq policy than he is with McCain's.

Yep - more like this, please. Rick "Mr. Fannie Mae Lobbyist" Davis, going on national political TV (even if it is cable), and saying making dismissive remarks about Colin Powell? That's GOLD, baby. Hand that man a bigger shovel to keep digging with. Or, if you prefer the visual, toss that drowning man an anchor.

Did you really even have to ask?

This is a guy who repeatedly played "Barack, the Magic Negro" as a song on his show. Was there even ever any question that Limburger would pull that "Powell's only doing this cuz they're both...you know...." shtick?

((((I agree. I read somewhere that even the RNC is throwing their money into Congressional races rather McScrooge.)))))

The RNC is jumping ship??? I have never heard of that either. OMG! McCain's mother said that he didn't have support. Well, no wonder McCain is desperate. I don't feel any sympathy for either of them, because if they had run an honest campaign they might not be strapped for support. Both are getting what they deserve, IMHO.

John McCain is running his campaign on sneers and it's pretty clear that the American voter just doesn't find it compelling. I wish it weren't so. America could really benefit by both campaigns doing their best to outshine one another in the area of their policies, but we have to make do with what we got.

I can't find the story now, but I did read something about it. I think it makes sense. They'll get more bang for the buck spending that money on the legislature.

I hear that.
