"Mark my words," the Democratic vice presidential nominee warned at the second of his two Seattle fundraisers Sunday. "It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking. We're about to elect a brilliant 47-year-old senator president of the United States of America. Remember I said it standing here if you don't remember anything else I said. Watch, we're gonna have an international crisis, a generated crisis, to test the mettle of this guy." http://blogs.abcnews.com/politicalradar/2008/10/biden-to-suppor.html

Are you saying that George W. Bush is a tested leader? Are you claiming that he's managed crisis well? Will John McCain do anything different than George W. Bush? Barack Obama has demonstrated in his debates, his speeches, and his policies that he is by far better to handle crisis than McCain.

There is a similar thread going on on this board and I'll post the same here: the terrorists are non-partisan. They don't care who's in office. They will strike if and when they want.

Actually, I think Bin Laden prefers the George Bush type of leader for America, if he has any preference at all. It may be that he doesn't care one way or the other, but I have a feeling that if he DOES care enough to have a preference, that would be it.

Why? Well, think about it: you're Osama Bin Laden, wealthy, nutty, hate-filled terrorist-of-renown. What motivates you? What drives you? What's your ultimate goal? It certainly isn't money, since you already had that, and you've been spending it rather freely to support your operations. And it likely isn't material comfort or fame, else you wouldn't be living in a cave in Waziristan. No, if you're OBL, your stated goal is ultimately a holy war between the west and Islam. That's what you've been pushing for since the US abandoned your butt in Afghanistan after recruiting your sense of religious nationalism to help fight a proxy war with the old Soviet Union. A Holy War. Now.....how is that best accomplished? If you're going to set up America - in the eyes of anyone who follows you or looks to you as an opinion-setter - as "the great Satan," then you'd probably prefer that they prove you right and ACT Satanic (from your perspective), right? I mean, do you want an America which is cautious, internationalist, and committed to the building of strong, law-enforcement-based international coalitions to defeat what are essentially groups of criminals like you and your followers? Or would you prefer a shootin'-from-the-hip, cowboy-lookin' (and actin') guy who says things in front of microphones like "we're on a crusade," and "dead or alive" (the "ya varmint" ending is optional, LOL)? A guy who repeatedly frames the conflict in virtually the same terms you do - minus the "holy war" sentiment, but you can just tell people that that's what he really MEANS, but won't actually SAY), using phrases like "the Islamo-facists are radical religious extremists" and the like? I mean, hey, that sounds pretty good, doesn't it? Makes you and your ragtag band of criminal jerks sound like honorable, religiously-motivated soldiers for Allah, instead of.....well....the criminal crapweasels you know, deep down, that you are. But if you can manage to get lucky enough to have the President of the United States himself (and his administration) elevating you to the status of some sort of Muslim martyr/holy warrior, through HIS OWN rhetoric? Man, that's jihadist GOLD, baby! You couldn't ASK for a better script than that!

((((((Are you saying that George W. Bush is a tested leader? Are you claiming that he's managed crisis well? Will John McCain do anything different than George W. Bush))))))

Hell to the naw. Bush43 has been a presidency of NON leadership. McCain, the way he has behaved just in the last few months is proof that he would be a terrible leader. Obama has the temperament of resolve, thoughtfulness, patience. Yet, he is determined and smart enough to come up with plans so effective that Bush43 utilized them!!! That's a ringing endorsement for Obama's readiness.

McCain in a crisis is chaos in slow motion. His whole campaign has been one debacle after another. This was a peek into how McCain would govern, and I didn't like what I saw at all. He is unsure, uninformed, arrogant, unaware of his own behaviors, and unfocused. Nothing in there about leadership. McCain said that he would not meet with the pres. of Spain...OUR NATO ALLY!!!! Hello...

McCain does not understand the importance of keeping the lines of communication open. McCain does not respect people that do not agree with him. McCain is not mindful of the language of diplomacy. He wants to bark out commands, but this is not 1965. The US needs to reintroduce itself as a super power with humility, because Bush43 lied to the people that voted for him, when he said he would bring humility to the WH. Maybe he didn't understand what that meant. lol.

Please remember that Powell was a supporter of the war in Iraq.

Huh? Can you clarify that a bit? I'm not sure I understand what "major decent" means - and I am not being snarky; I just don't think I get what you're trying to say regarding Powell, race and the Bush administration (OR the Obama campaign).

Thanks.

Remember, President Bush challenged affirmative action through the courts in Michigan.
