Hey look, the tax money we spend on the brokerage and banking industry bailouts funnels right back into the hands of our candidates. Who'd a thunk it?

yes it is time. There should also be something that states that if a company is giving to both campaigns, there is a cap on it and the same amount to both campaigns if they are not endorsing a candidate. i wonder if the bailout money is going to campaigns..:) And you are right, it does look like a bet. *LOL*

The trend did turn around in 2007-8. For at least the decade before, the financial firms were donating much more to the Republicans. They do pay attention to who controls congress, don't they?

Interesting that the U.S. Gov't, U.S. Army and the Dept of Defense are contributors to McCain. I guess if we want more war, he's the one who will be happy to spend our tax dollars on it.

I agree that it's time for finance reform.

I don't think that does much to prevent the influence of huge corporate donations

Yeah, that is interesting. I had no idea that my tax dollars could be used for partisan purposes. The system is rotten, what other conclusion is there?
