Having just dealt with this with my grandmother a few months back, my heart goes out to him.

How sad for him, and sad for her that she didn't get to see this historic election. How proud she must be of her grandson and how he has conducted himself though out the campaign.

One great thing I can say about this board is that no matter what our political leanings, the true goodness/kindness of our posters comes out in the kind wishes for the politicians (even politicians they disagree with) when they are suffering pain and loss.

(((((I think he won't regret having taken that vacation to travel home to Hawaii where he visited her this summer. )))))

My prayers are with Sen. Obama and his Grandma. I thought the same thing - that it's wonderful that he visited her this year. I remember that Obama took a lot of heat for taking that time, but worth it in light of his Grandma's declining health.

Obama is right about this election being about us. His need to leave for a few days starting Thurs., proves that, because Michelle Obama is stepping in for her lovely husband! Their teamwork just makes me giddy. Obama has created so much momentum that his constituents will continue to vote, donate, and campaign FOR him until he gets back. Hopefully his Grandma will recover.
