“All the people like us are we, And everyone else is They.”
Rudyard Kipling
Why can’t McCain/Palin stick to the issues - economy, more jobs, getting us out of Iraq, taking care of Al Qaida in Afghanistan, giving us affordable health care, and strengthening social security - instead of trying to demonize their opposition? Name calling will not solve our problems. Hate serves no purpose, but to divide our country.
Instead of trying to unite our people in an effort to find solutions to our problems, McCain/Palin go with the old Karl Rove strategy of divide and conquer. We are the good guys and everyone is bad. Hate can only hurt us all.
If we are going to overcome the adversity we face in this country, we will have to do it together.
We overcame the Great Depression and defeated the Nazis in World World II by working together, one country united.
Pitting one group of our citizens against another will only be counterproductive. Look at the tragedy of the American Civil War.
There should not be a we and a they. Everyone here should be an us.
I believe in this country. I believe that we can solve our problems. But I also believe this will not come until we are united for the purpose of solving problems.
America is a diverse nation of people who have come from many different lands. Different cultures and different religions. But our differences have long been one of our strengths.
