If so, it would be the best thing to happen to the Republican Party in 30 years - and they might re-form into an Opposition I can respect again.
---

That's one of the most agreeable statements I've read this morning. I too, was a Republican who voted for Reagan, Voted for Bush in 1988/1992, voted for Bush in 2000.

What happened to fiscal discipline?
What happened to strong national defense?
What happened to non-intervention foreign policy?
What happened to small and limited government?
What happened to no government intrusion in our private lives?

Reagan said it once and I'll paraphrase it: I never left the Republican party, it left me.

================================

Reward Republicans for 8 years of failure? No way, No how, No McCain!

You have always given me a different perspective to think about.

Hmmm...If you're old enough to have voted for Nixon, shouldn't that be whatever-old lady?

It is amazing how many people will actually change their vote at the last minute just so they won't have voted for the 'loser'.

No.

This cannot be. All the GoOPers keep telling us that McCain is climbing in the polls, that he's "surging" (LOL).

This cannot be.

You know, unless Obama wins and does something really fantastic during his Presidency, I think my most lasting memory of this election will be the feeling of dismay as I watched someone whom I really admired and respected - even if I did have some issues with his politics - literally 'sell his soul' in the quest for the White House.
