It's a LOT more significant than partisan press coverage. Not only does "experienced" Biden think Obama is unqualified to be President, but that our enemies also believe that he is naive and inexperienced...and will quickly test him with an incident on the level of the "Cuban Missile Crisis"...bearing in mind that was the closest the world has come to nuclear war...AND that Biden believes that Obama's response will appear to be WRONG.

Think we're up for another "Cuban Missile Crisis" with a neophyte like Obama at the helm? Neither do I.

my question however, was do you agree that Dan Rather is correct in his assessment of the treatment of Palin vs Biden in MSM?

Yes, absolutely. Biden is a gaffe-machine and it goes largely ignored in the press. However, if Palin screwed up, it would be front-page news.

I agree with Dan Rather -- but I need to defend the media. *smile* Biden has been out there making these kinds of gaffes (if you will) for 25 years. We know Joe Biden. We know what he's capable of. And across party lines, he's understood as a very sincere -- if clumsy -- orator. The bottom line is that he's a known and respected entity.

The biggest problem with Palin -- and why I don't think she can claim a double standard -- is that she is still relatively unknown. And she's unknown by her (campain's) own doing. Sure, it's not fair that she would be "clobbered," as she said earlier today on CNN, for saying something similar. But thems the breaks. If you're an outsider coming in so late in the game -- and if you refuse to do many interviews or press conferences -- what you do say will be scrutinized. Politics hasn't been easy for anyone in this race.

That said, this story about Biden has been all over the place today. Everywhere. Likewise, Palin's comments about robocalling have been big, big news today. It seems to me that each of these stories are getting a lot of play.
