Obama is NOT raising taxes

Much has been said about Obama raising taxes, but here's the deal on it.

George W Bush is raising your taxes. It is his tax cut that he signed into law that contained the time for them to EXPIRE.

Obama had nothing to do with this Legislation. It was signed by George W Bush.

Of course, only a few years ago John McCain himself wouldn't support those tax cuts, flip-flopping (again) his position entirely since beginning to run for President after the 2004 election.

Reward Republicans for 8 years of failure? No way, No how, No McCain!

>>> I know very well what it's like in high COLAs. I'm in metro DC. And we're doing just fine living on much less than $250K with a student in college--a state university, and NOT a $30,000/yr tuition college. I see tons of middle class, hard-working American families here struggling with household incomes of less than $100K.

I can't account for the price of homes or taxes in your area. I do know that homes in my area are very expensive and the taxes are high...not mansions, just 50-60 year old 2-3 bedroom ranch-style homes. The COLA is pretty high here as well. So why do people who live a modest, middle-American life, have to hand over their money to people who didn't earn it?

>>> I would not object to paying more in tax if the millionaires also would increase the amounts they pay in taxes.

Why do you need others to pay more in order for you to be "patriotic?" BTW, your sentiment is precisely the argument AGAINST Obama's "wealth re-distribution."

>>> What I refuse to do is vote for someone who will force the middle class to continue to lose their hard-earned incomes through payroll taxes, while the top 1-5% continue to grow their wealth with Bush/McCain tax cuts.

I'm afraid you've got a skewed impression of who the top 5% really are...and even more frightening is that you feel entitled to money that other hard-working people earned.

Look out if it rains tonight, the Obama supporters will find a way to blame Bush.

Capital gains are the worst of the worst, those need to be done with permanently.
