Point still is, he's NOT doing it now, and George W was a drunkard and did use some illegal drugs in College.

Didn't Cindy McCain steal the drugs? I don't know, I'm asking. I know my DH's nephew's second wife was an RN and she stole drugs from the Med room where she worked, or she charted that the patient refused the drug, or it was dropped on the floor, but she was pocketing them until she was caught. Drugs like Oxycontin. (Limbaugh's favorite) She was stripped of her license, now she bellyaches they don't make any money to have nice things, new car, etc, she is collecting disability, though!

That's ok - Many Republicans need drugs like these to escape

It was wrong of the NYT to do a cover story on Cindy so far after the fact. I did not read it for that reason. That is not Obama's fault. If you want to level the playing field - how about we have them do a story on Obama's drug use, McCain's unsavory past - with his carousing and discipline issues, and an expose on Bush's alcoholic past as well? I am sure we can find plenty of politicians who tried drugs or who abuse alcohol to include. What would it accomplish? This is all common knowledge and has not affected the campaign to any noticeable degree. Cindy, as many people have pointed out, is not running for president. She would not be the first First Lady to have struggled with an addiction - remember Betty Ford? To keep bringing it up just keeps it in the spotlight - is that your purpose?

The difference would be someone experimenting with drugs and someone having an abuse problem.
