How can a parent limit the learning of another adult?
For starters, by pulling them from schools (let me clear here, by "schools" I mean colleges and universities ;)) where they don't agree with the views of every professor and instructor.

>>> Thanks for not answering my question. This does not explain if you think he is an Anarchist or a Marxist or maybe you believes he is an Anarchist with Marxist beliefs or just a plain Communist. Which do you believe because each of these statements would mean an entirely different ideology?
Your question was…” Do you think Obama wants to flush the government down the toilet or do you think he wants to grow it large like Jabba the hut? Which one is it? You really can't have it both ways like your conflicting/inexplicable views...see above.”…Obviously Obama doesn’t want to flush the government down the toilet, he wants to run it…and he wants the government to be a big as possible to control as much of people’s lives as possible.
>>> BTW, Anarchist/Maxist is not the same as Lenin or Stalin but I would hope you are educated enough to know the difference.
I would hope you are educated enough to know that Marx wasn’t an anarchist and that he is considered the founder of communism, so for all intents and purposes, yeah, in reality, Marx is the same as Lenin and Stalin.
>>> You are throwing all kind of ambiguous accusations of what Obama may be, but they are all different schools of thought and he can't be all those things.
I’ve thrown around one school of thought…socialism.
>>> Personally, I like the more extreme kind of Authoritarian/Totalitarian type feel. It is nice and relaxing and very insulated like a baby in the womb. I don't really know what is good for me or my family so I wait for government to make a law and tell me the difference. I appreciate you knowledge so please let me know who will be most Authoritarian before I vote.
Obama.

>>> Oh, and as an after dinner mint thought, people probably attack McCain for deregulation but that does not really mean Laissez Faire type jazz.
That was the phrase that was used, but you can read their minds if you like.
>>> Lately, McCain does resonate like a sound bite from the Cato institute. Capital anarchist would feel at home here.
Doesn’t sound like the McCain I’ve heard.
"Those teachers" who signed the petition were college teachers.
>>> Considering you are apparently having trouble understanding that a reference to children attending schools in discussion about University professors who signed a petition which specifically refers to several top-notch Universities is talking about University aged children, I'm afraid what you fine "evident" may not have much connection to what actually exists.
My perception wasn't as constrained as yours apparently is. You, and others, seem to feel that you can control what your college-age children think. Frankly, I think that is a ridiculous presumption. For myself, I think that it’s better not to wait until your children are in college to teach them values.
>>Thus far, the only information we've been able to glean about your church is that it espouses beliefs that are not contradicted by the beliefs of any other faith. This is an interesting anomaly. Perhaps you'd care to tell us more about your church?<<
>>> Not particularly. But feel free to google our parent association. I'm Unitarian Universalist.
A church that espouses non-belief beliefs. Interesting...but no thank you.
>>Obviously Obama doesn’t want to flush the government down the toilet, he wants to run it…and he wants the government to be a big as possible to control as much of people’s lives as possible.<<
So, he is not an anarchist like Ayers.
>>My perception wasn't as constrained as yours apparently is. You, and others, seem to feel that you can control what your college-age children think. Frankly, I think that is a ridiculous presumption.<<
Thus far you've been the only person who claimed you'd actually
>>> For starters, by pulling them from schools (let me clear here, by "schools" I mean colleges and universities ;)) where they don't agree with the views of every professor and instructor. Particularly if the parent is paying the bills, and with the cost of higher ed these days, they usually are footing at least a portion of the bill.
You may feel differently, but personally, I'd want my kid to go to school to get an education, not an indoctrination.
< There's no need to twist anything...the liberal indoctrination of our kids, regardless of age, is obviously damaging to them personally and to society as a whole.
>>> And all I can say to this is...uh huh, sure. If you say so. Clearly we are never going to see eye to eye on this one so I think it's time to agree to disagree.
Ok
>>> I must admit, I get no end of amusement from conservative people who think that they have a monopoly on morals and values.
Probably because conservatives espouse morals and values while liberals do not.
>>> I happen to think I have wonderful morals and values and plan on passing those on to my kids as best I can.
I have no doubt.
>>> Mind you, I also understand that other people in this world have different value systems than my own and that's their right, one I try hard to respect.
I respect their right to have different value systems...but not the right to try and impose those values on my children in the guise of an education.
>>> I must admit, I get no end of amusement from conservative people who think that they have a monopoly on morals and values.
Probably because conservatives espouse morals and values while liberals do not.
*sigh* and so, proving my point.
