In fact, we need more discussion and more debate about ideas and ideologies.
I like this one:
McCain LOST???
I don't know.
Not necessarily. They'll still have Joe the unlicensed, tax-avoidin', non-business-buyin' Plumber. And you remember those old Army ads? "An Army of One?" Maybe the GOP's new slogan can/should be "A Party Of One."
McCain LOST???
I'm going to leave aside refuting the quotes you put up, because the actual context of the remarks has already been posted numerous times. Either you saw it, and just choose not to believe it, or you didn't, and a simple archive search might help.
But even if you believe Ayers said those things in the worst possible manner, and (in your view) unquestionably should be fired...and that the only reason he HASN'T been is that the "people at the University have their fingers in their ears," then I'd STILL refer you to the glorious free market of both ideas and money: if any right-thinking (take that either way) American would instantly come to the conclusions you have, then clearly, they should "vote with their pocketbooks," and refuse to spend their money sending their children to such a debased institution. If enough people do that, the University will be forced through public pressure - and, to the degree that it is taxpayer-financed, through taxpayer pressure, to either get rid of the rot, or perish in its current form.
Yet strangely, none of those things have happened. I wonder why? In fact, Bill Ayers was named "citizen of the year" in 1997. That doesn't seem like an award you give out to someone who's an unrepentant domestic terrorist who'd as soon set a bomb under your porch as look at you - at least if he thinks you’re an imperialist-oppressor running-dog.
Hmmm....curious. However, never mind my yakking. Surely, as a stalwart believer in the good sense and morality of the marketplace to regulate and right itself, and to produce the best conditions of prosperity for all of us, if sufficiently freed from the irksome restraints of interference from big government, you'd have to agree that Ronald Reagan's dear friend Walter Annenberg would never have funded such a horrible, soulless monster as Ayers, wouldn't you? Oh, wait...he DID? Hmm....odd.
