I have no idea, though the other responses of "he stole it!!!!" are probably not too farfetched.
However, I truly don't care. Win or lose, I intend to stop fighting the good fight here. If Obama wins, there will be more important things - in my mind - than trying to convince a handful of doctrinaire, ossified conservatives masquerading as moderates, and the few genuinely curious lurkers who probably still read here occasionally, that Obama ISN'T the antiChrist, or in league with domestic terrorists, or a Muslim, or going to raise their taxes through the roof, etc. There will be real governing to do, which will require the time and talents of everyone who wishes to participate in good faith.
And there will be my family, and my own pursuits, which have both been, although not completely neglected (LOL), not getting enough of my attention for what seems like an interminable length of time, as I have poured myself - both here and elsewhere - into this campaign.
And if John McCain somehow manages to pull off what is looking with every passing day more and more like what would have to be the greatest electoral upset in US Presidential history (strictly from the numbers), then I will be content to direct my energies elsewhere, and let the Republicans truly reap the full harvest of what they have sown with their disastrous anti-regulatory, borrow-and-spend, chest-thumping, jingoistic policies for a generation or more. Lord knows it is their due, and the only reason I don't "vote for McCain and bring on the revolution" is that too many lives will be ruined - or greatly diminished - in service of making a political point, were I to do that and were McCain to win.
So I get to say, truthfully, that I don't care a fig what the debates will be about after November 5th. I will stay probably through the end of the day AFTER election day (unless some Diebold-and-SCOTUS-generated travesty-of-democracy unfolds as it did in 2000), and then I will, at long last, VERY happily, let this place slide into my own personal rear-view mirror.
Republicans are trashing themselves, with this "if I can't have it, NO ONE CAN!!!!!" sort of scorched-earth strategy, as witnessed most vividly and recently by this poor deluded Republican college girl who disfigured HERSELF (though somehow, I suspect she stopped short of digging deep enough to leave permanent scars) in an attempt to blame black people and/or Obama supporters.
No one "trashed" her.....except for herself. John McCain is - in a parallel but not nearly so severe vein - abandoning DECADES worth of genuine "maverick" cred in order to ingratiate himself with the hard-right base of the party, so he could lock down the nomination. And now, sadly, it seems he has chosen to "go out" in a hail of fire, flaming into the sea, as befits a fighter pilot.....but not a statesman. Good riddance, I say, but let's not confuse ourselves as to where this sort of division and nastiness is coming from. Ask not for whom the moose tolls....it tolls for thee.
