"GOP clerk apologizes for 'black Hitler' posts
'Never intended to offend anyone,' she says of online attack at Obama

FRANKLIN, Ind. - A Republican county clerk in Indiana said she apologized for distributing to two of her employees an Internet blog posting referring to Barack Obama as a "young, black Adolf Hitler."

According to a police report, the employees discovered printouts of the unsigned post at their desks after returning from Labor Day weekend. They had both voted for Obama in the Democratic primary.

Johnson County Clerk Jill Jackson told The Associated Press that she was merely passing along an item that already was circulating in the office and that she "never intended to offend anyone."
The posting does not mention Obama by name but refers to events in his life that make it clear Obama is the target.

Local Republican Party officials call the incident unacceptable, saying it taints Jackson's ability to appear unbiased in administering this year's election.

Sorry - guess it's been a long week and the sarcasm threw me. I hadn't expected that kind of reaction from you. Glad to know I was wrong in what I had thought!

Unfortunately, what Bill Mahr said was off color, but true. But I think I would have said "Any one who believes in their religion enough to fly planes into buildings so they could be rewarded by getting 72 lovely virgins, may not be considered to be cowards, just STUPID!" and left it at THAT!

Are we now reporting workplace violations to the POLICE ?????????????

The story didn't say why the police were called - perhaps because it might be a hate crime? I don't know what was on the flyer.

No problem. I guess what prompted me to post what I did was because that day I had a conversation with a friend of mine who is a high school guidance counselor. He told me that he had a student who called a teacher a "b---h". When the principal called home, I guess the father told the principal his son could say what ever he wants that is his right, freedom of speech and all that crap. Since when does freedom of speech mean you can be rude and disrespectful to others? I think the meaning of freedom of speech has been lost through the years.

You know, the kid "was" using his freedom of speech to call the teacher a bad word - BUT the school has rules and regulations and it is "their" right to give the kid a 3 day vacation or however long they attach to such a violation of school rules and "show him the door" for the alloted amount of time.

Then what do you say to the references in the cartoon "The Family Guy" that has a skit where Hitler and his army are wearing McCain/Palin buttons?
