OUCH! That Has GOTTA Hurt

Have a look at this. It's John McCain's web site, announcing the formation (and members) of his "Open and Honest Campaign Committee."

Now, have a look at this. It's also from McCain's web site, announcing ANOTHER McCain committee, his "Justice Advisory Committee."

Why should you care about any of this? Because of one particular name on both those lists of McCain advisors - a McCain advisor named Charles Fried. Who is Charles Fried? Well....I suppose you could have a look at his Wikipedia page, which will tell you more than I will here. But let's just suffice it for our purposes tonight to say that he was Ronald Reagan's Solicitor General, a position in which he served with - by all accounts - remarkable distinction.

"But McCain't," I hear you mutter, "I'm still not getting why in the heck I ought to care about this McCain advisor....what - did he get caught with his pants down?" No, kiddies, far, FAR worse (at least for McCain): he just endorsed Obama. No, I'm not kidding. This is a guy who McCain reached out to, a Republican, who said he would not only support, but work on the McCain campaign to ADVISE him in an important position on two different committees. And he's just endorsed Obama.

Yikes. I think that if I were John McCain, I'd be starting to contemplate ways that I could credibly fake my death, and just take my money and go retire somewhere nice and tropical.

P.S. It may very well be that by the time you read this post, the above links to the McCain campaign web site pages which list Mr. Fried proudly as an advisor will have been permanently scrubbed. If so, let me know; I've got screen-caps of both which I can post for anyone who's interested.

Fascinating - I breathlessly await the inevitable cries of racisim, or slander of this man's good name for falling for the liberal campaign of 'hope and change' LOL.
Seriously, just another intelligent, thoughtful republican voting for Obama. What ever happened to Freedom09? I hope he knows his party seems to be having an awakening.

I suggest that the committee start by investigating voter fraud in WV, where there have been reports of vote-switching, from Obama to McCain, by numerous (not just a few) voters. The type of voter machine fraud in the Homer Simpson video, LOL!!!

Editing to add: Those are REPUBLICAN-CONTROLLED counties.

Ah yes, I have been out of the country for a few days, 'off the grid' so to speak. I was quite surprised at the number of conservatives that have endorsed Obama in the last week. Perhaps most surprising was the Goldwater family with their proud legacy of conservatism. It has been an interesting week in my conservative world as more people seem to be willing to openly discuss displeasure with the McCain campaign. An interesting time in American politics to be sure!
