Lost in all the news reports about ACORN's fraud and corruption is this simple fact:

I used to work for Wal Mart and believe me, there is not a whole lot of difference.

I can't believe you are still on ACORN. McCain has much closer ties to fraudulent voting efforts and the Republicans are disenfranchising millions of voters in battleground states, as we've gone over in detail here. So if you really care about this issue, you will favor Obama over McCain.

Without going hunting for details, I'm going to surmise ACORN is not for profit.

If they paid $100 per hour, I suspect this would be your thread topic.

I know, isn't it ridiculous to STILL be on ACORN? Just about everyone of the conservative bellyaches about Obama has been proven to be distorted of false!

I imagine it is considered seasonal work, for some.

I think it is reasonable to ask why Obama - who says he cares about the poor - supports and funnels money to an organization that pays minimal wages, no benefits, and

Do you know what minimum wage is?

Eight dollars an hour, although low, is still $1.45 higher than the federal minimum wage.

The FLSA establishes minimum wage, overtime pay, recordkeeping, and youth employment standards affecting employees in the private sector and in Federal, State, and local governments. Covered nonexempt workers are entitled to a minimum wage of not less than $6.55 per hour effective July 24, 2008. http://www.dol.gov/esa/whd/flsa/

The minimum wage varies from state to state, with some states - such as California - mandating a minimum wage higher than that required by federal law.

ACORN operates primarily in large metropolitan areas - in those areas most persons (unless they work for ACORN) earn more than $8 per hour and most get benefits in addition to their salaries.
