The Religious Right and their holier than thou unChristianlike vitrol has really damaged the Republican party. I don't remember any of this Religious Right stuff during other Republican presidents.
This is just an opinion but Palin strikes me as possibly that type of person (a crap disturber). I can't find the article....but early on, I had read of her penchant for firing people that didn't agree with her....Not just the librarian or Wooten
"I hope by then her 15 minutes will be over and the Republicans will have "snapped out of it". "
They've got a long road. They are still deep in denial over what a terrible job they've done and what they are about. They are still spouting a bunch lies and hatred to try to keep it going.
I am sorry to say this, but there is no way the Republican Party is snapping out of it. They are gone to humanity for a least another decade or two. And if Rove isn't held accountable and is allowed to get away with what he did and keep lurking and feeding their machine, it could be until he passes a natural death plus another 10 years.
I think it's good that Palin finally has the guts to be herself instead of the puppet she's been since her selection as McCain's running mate. I don't know that the change will help her cause any, but I have more respect for anyone who does not let others control them.
The respect I gain for SP would never be enough for me to ever vote for her but, as a woman, I'd much rather see another woman out there being herself than acting as eye candy in the GOP's effort to win the presidency. The same goes for Michele Bachmann--I think she blew it for herself by using the campaign's preferred language.

I think that if McCain doesn't win this time around, Palin will throw her hat in the ring in 2012.

They need to seriously rethink their game and go back to being republicans.
