This is so off topic. I bet you don't originally post this because you know no one would read it there. Weird.

"Read (or re-read) the Declaration of Independence; and our USA Constitution; and our USA Bill of Rights; and every single Amendment to our USA constitution. I believe that you, too, shall love America more fully for doing so, and I believe that you, too, shall vote for the political candidates in whom you believe that you will see put our USA Constitution first, and thereby place country first."
You know what? I have read all of the above and more in the last several years. I have three teenage/young adult children who have taken AP Government and AP US History in the past 4 - 5 years so I have not only read these documents, I have also read extensively about the beginnings of our country. What has been the effect of such copious reading you might ask? I am glad you did, as I knew you would. It has confirmed for me the extent to which our current president and vice president have perverted the system and attempted to thwart the purposes of the founding fathers in crafting those documents. Since Joe Biden and Barack Obama have had extensive training in constitutional law I trust that they more fully uphold the intentions of our founding fathers than their opponents, especially the vice presidential candidate who appears to be uneducated in these documents.
So, while I thank you for your gratuitous advice, I am in fact fully able to make decisions without your unsolicited advice.
I'm picturing 60-somethings rioting in the streets.

janetheteacher,
You are mistaken, if you believe either Sen. Obama OR Sen. Biden, as you wrote in your message:
If the NRA had their way, there would be no restrictions whatsoever regarding guns.
Oh I am going to take anything the NRA has to say as 'truth'? NOT! As a middle school teacher I would love to reduce the number of guns on the street. Two of my students were arrested this week for bringing a gun to school so I don't want to hear any malarky about 'right to own a gun'. Two years ago one of our students was killed while asleep in her bed during a drive by shooting - the bullet missed its intended victim and went through the wall and into her head as she slept. Who was protecting her civil rights? I also have a very old, fairly senile, ex father in law who has managed to retain his concealed weapon permit in the lovely state of Virginia. Last time I went to visit him, just a few weeks ago, he was sitting there with two loaded guns. Called the police as I was leaving only to be told that unless/until he discharges them they can't do anything. Never mind that when that day comes someone will likely be dead.
I am not a supporter of guns, never have been, never will be. Sorry - sell you malarky to someone else.
