"hat's why I call these two (McCain/Palin) the Rapture candidates..... They're looking for a chance to make prophecy come true..."
You know, it's funny you mention that. I was looking for a link to a mainstream article about how the right-wing hopes to hasten Armageddon in the Middle East. Their belief, I think I once read in a magazine like Time, is something like 3/4 of the Jews will burn in hell and the remaining 1/4 will convert to Christianity and go to heaven.
In fact, I read in that New Yorker article I posted in a separate thread that one of Palin's main original right-wing backers is a fundamentalist Christian who converted to Judaism because Christ was Jewish before he became Christian. He is a Jew who plans on converting to save himself.
>>Sigh. Doing your best to deflect what Biden said?<<
I don't think she was trying to deflect what Biden said. I think John McCain did a fine job of it himself. I think that this quote speaks for itself. It was plain English and the whole article was posted so we all can see that it was not a line taken out of context.
Yeah.
My neighbor, bless his heart, said he had removed reams of political fliers from the front door. I was sorting through the backlog of mail and about 1/2 of it was political ads/fliers.
I'm a declared independent in New Mexico. Apparently, both parties feel the need to "convert" me!

Good article. I think this says it all:
Clinton's advice is correct. The trouble for McCain is that he doesn't know what the right thing to do is. He is indecisive when it comes to nuance and complexity. His solutions to complex problems have been overly simplistic and really nothing more than feel good window dressing. The gas tax holiday is a perfect example. The offshore drilling emphasis is another. Perhaps McCain simply believes voters are stupid and he can propose crap like that and nobody will notice, but that underscores just how bad his judgment is.
