Once again BO's liberal viewpoint on display ... to fix a problem or a percieved problem we must get the government to solve it. The purpose of taxation is to provide the government revenue to carry out the responsibilities of government. It is not to re-distibute wealth in a manner that BO approves of.

Can you come up with another country for BO to be President of? I think he's in the wrong one.

Big deal. You want to keep padding the pockets of the CEOs and hope something trickles down, go right ahead and voter for McCain.

This has already been discussed in so many other threads on this board there's nothing new we'll learn from your thread.

2001 Obama: "It's a tragedy that redistribution of wealth not perused by the Supreme Court."

I'm sure this will be Keith Olbermann's lead story tonight!!!

Seriously though "a piece of your piece of the pie" is what the many on the left want. Obama came out last week and said he won’t apologize for the “spread the wealth” comment to Joe the plumber. He’s not walking away from it because many of his supporters wants to hear it.

< raising taxes only on the top 5%.>

What he fails to mention is that 100% of taxpayers will get to spread their wealth once the Bush Tax cuts expire in 2011.

I am aleady redistributing my wealth. I pay into social security, and it goes to people who are not currently working.(either due to retirement or disabililty) I pay property taxes and it goes to school children who are not working yet.

Taxation is a re-distribution of wealth. Does McCain plan to abolish taxes altogether, or he going to let us all sit under the table and eat the crumbs that fall from the plates of the very wealthy ? I not wealthy by any means, but I don't mind paying taxes for public education, and to provide a social safety net for the retired, disabled, wounded veterans, etc., and the hard working working poor. I realize that are some people who are poor due to their own unwillingness to work, but I am not going to cut off everyone who is disabled, or working poor, just to avoid paying a few deadbeats. A much bigger portion of my taxes goes to this war. I don't like that either, but I don't get to pick and choose where my tax money goes.

I don't mind giving a leg up to the needy, I resent giving a hand out to the greedy, such as an increase in sales tax that was pushed on us in order to finance another uneeded sports stadium being built by a very wealthy enteprenuer. I even give a little bit more to help the less fortunate by donating to food banks, blood banks, Habitat for Humanity, etc.

If the builder of the Sports stadium was very wealthy why was public financing needed in the first place?

This is the most disturbing piece I've heard yet.

His words are the most important part of this campaign because they define how he would tackle each issue our country is facing.

Is this making the MSM today? I don't have cable or satellite, only saw it on foxnews.com. Nothing on cnn.com or msnbc.com. (Big surprise.)
