I'm not entirely convinced that we've gotten the whole story on this incident.

They didn't? Ok let me rephrase it, they allow him to fire a gun. Same thing to me.

The boy was hit in the head after losing control of the weapon while firing it on a range yesterday at a gun club's Machine Gun Shoot and Firearms Expo in Massachusetts.

The boy was with a certified instructor and ``was shooting the weapon down range when the force of the weapon made it travel up and back toward his head, where he suffered the injury,'' police said, calling it a ``self-inflicted accidental shooting.''

I agree. What I don't understand is the "love affair" the conservatives have with guns. I know they are needed for protection in a lot of cases, and hunters need them to shoot game, but I think they can be dangerous, and an instrument of crime.

"Giving" a kid a gun is not the same as allowing a kid to fire one under direct adult supervision.

Firearms can be dangerous, no argument.

They have a decent amount of muzzle rise in rapid fire, up and to the right generally.
