Sorry to say....But that's a caribou. I personally don't have a big issue with some moderate hunting of game animals. Especially if you eat the meat and do it as sportsmanlike as possible.
The one "hunting" story about her I can't abide though, are reports of her shooting wolves from a helicopter.
How do I say this without it being interpreted as a slam. We've "known" each other for a long time. I find you to be a well-reasoned poster who is smart, articulate and quite thoughtful. It doesn't hurt that we agree on a great many issues either ;o). In at least one regard though, I think we don't quite interpret things the same way (or with the same intensity)
Don't get me wrong...I strongly believe in women's rights myself. I believe that a woman can do pretty much what a man can do (well....except bench press a 1000 pounds, or pull a monster truck with her teeth....but who would want to really?) and I believe there's still a lot of progress to be made in establishing equality for the sexes...But I have to ask...is it possible that your strong feminist views could be impacting your objectivity just a little?

That's the million dollar question.
More about Palin the Whackjob
WOW....Your really know very little about Colin Powell. I'd advise you to read his biography "My American Journey" that he wrote after serving in the first George Bush's administration during the previous Gulf War. It's a fascinating and very informative read.
<>
Over the years, he has spent a great deal MORE time with McCain and acknowledges him as a friend. Despite this though, he made a compelling and very detailed case for the reasons behind his endorsement (and McCain's pick of Sarah Palin was only a small part of that).
<>
Like most reasonable people, Colin Powell is aware of the need for balance in everything. The country would be ill served if one party (or one political philosophy) were to gain too much of the upper hand in the government or the Supreme Court, leaving the other too weak to provide much needed balance and perspective.
<>
First of all, he's retired and doesn't particularly care at this point how shiny his brass is. He has turned down a number of strong requests to run for president himself (ambition does not play a part in this). Not only has he served in the United States military from 1958-1997. He is a Republican who has served faithfully and well in the Nixon, Reagan, George H.W Bush, and bush jr. REPUBLICAN administrations.
As far as I know, there's no such thing as the RINO Party (but it's too bad IMO). As far as him knowing Obama will win....No one actually knows that at this point.
<>
Well we really differ in this. It's my opinion that it was actually brave of Powell to endorse Obama. So, contrary to what you said, I think that he actually placed his country above his own well-being (as he has done frequently throughout his many years of public service).

Goodness! She sound like the PERFECT person to foster a good and cooperative work environment (something you need at the head of government).
Maybe some of those folks are right. She IS a Diva.
Your, uh, journalistic
Y'all ain't so hot at the whole "peeing standing up" thing, either.
Then again, I suppose WE aren't very good at having babies...or lactating...LOL.
McCain LOST???
