That's what "penis envy" really means dont'cha know....(or so I concluded after a few long canoe trips). Normally though, that's what skirts are for (as I remarked on a camping trip one night after one too many brewskies ;o).
It was a discovery of a lifetime *cue choir of angels* and also answered my question as to why the heck women wore skirts in the first place. Now I make sure to bring a denim skirt EVERY time I camp.

A mixed blessing, trust me (but certainly way more useful than pulling a monster truck with your teeth.

Your point is? I'm voting for Obama in a state where he is ahead by 18 in the latest poll.

"Collin Powell's sexist snub of Governor Palin is the worst case of self interest. He wants to be liked and of the in group to be admired and invited to the socially important parties."
Seriously??? I sincerely doubt that Colin Powell has any problem being invited to 'socially important parties' whether he want to be or not. Self interest??? Colin Powell has reached the top of the top for a military man - what is this going to do for him? Do you know anything about this man? He doesn't need to 'shine his brass'. I don't know if I have ever read a more ill-informed post here or anywhere else.

Oh, I have.
Now this is one brief snippet of life, but...
Ten or so years ago, Colin was sitting ten or so rows behind me at Fenway Park. He could have picked which private booth he wished to watch the game from, including the owners of the team.
He sat with all us nobodies.
A rather tenuous extrapolation, but that does not strike me as the actions of one inclined to find a place in some social elite.

"Yes, and the really scary thing is making appointments is a large part of the president's job."
Yes. And it's not just Palin. McCain's former chief economic advisor called us a nation of whiners in a mental recession right as we were heading into the current collapse. McCain may be a respectable Senator, but he does not seem like the leader type. Maybe there's another reason he lost even to Bush in 2000.
"Interesting. I guess you all know her better than the folks who have to try to work with her every day. Because they just called her a "whack job" on the record during the key final stretch of the election. They must think she was pretty awful to sacrifice the campaign to say that. And that was after they called her a "diva" and a "rogue".
You make it sound like they been working every day for years. But in reality just maybe two months...LOL
I think that if she is roughing few feather it is good. She seems to be who she claims a "Maverick" ,that won't go with the flow, she has her own way of doing things, good for her.
She will be the real change in Washington..."
You raise a good point. How much can we know about this person in two months? But if anyone is ahead on the learning curve, it should be those who work with her day to day. And they are calling her a "whack job", a "diva" and a "rogue." They are doing so at great cost to their campaign. These are statements against interest my friend. Those are the kind of statements that are telling.
