economy economy economy economy. That's what this election is about.

This election is a referendum on Bush and the economy. It's about Bush, with the full backing of McCain on his tax cut, big spending budgets, expensive war in Iraq and economic policy.

So if you think things are great and that after 8 years we've got a strong economy to show for Bush and McCain's economic policy, go ahead and vote for McCain and the Republicans.

If you are like the rest of us you know what happened. Bush, McCain and the Republicans deregulated us into the worst economic mess since the Great Depression. It was a giant, free-for-all spending spree for the super rich while everyone else, including the Republican "regulators", watched. Now everyone else is paying the price for the greed and incompetence that the Republicans fostered.

So go ahead and vote Republican and reward them if you are happy with their job. Or go ahead and make lots of excuses for them if you like. Complain about all the things that happened to them rather than holding them accountable for steering our ship. You know these Republicans are out there in the life boats watching everyone else in the boat go down.

Or vote for Obama and the Democrats if you want to bring back balance, competence and fairness to our government and our society.

"I'd like everyone to take responsibility."

No, you clearly would not. You are doing your darndest to give the Republicans a free pass for their horrible leadership over the past 8 years. You treat them like they were somehow innocent bystanders when they were the ones responsible for guiding the ship. And guide they did. Into the rocks in Iraq. Into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. Into a massive web of corruption with Jack Abramoff. And yes Senator Coleman as I have posted was part of it. Keep denying it. Your unsupported denials won't change reality, as the Republicans are learning.

At this point I don't really care if Obama wins. It may be good he wins. It will be really nice to say I told you so in 4 years...LOL

It's refreshing to see truth posted here by neoconservatives.

I would love to see an investigation into why many minorities who would have qualified for a fixed rate mortgage, were instead steered into the Variable Rate ones - doubt that will see the light of day....

I just read in my local paper online that another Business is laying off 111 people. 10% of their workforce. People are cutting back wherever they can, and Magazines is one place they will cut back. The Middle Class is strapped, so they will cut back on buying clothes,go to Good Will instead,

"The Middle Class is strapped, so they will cut back on buying clothes,go to Good Will instead, they won't go out to eat as much, I don't think that people realize that the Middle class are the ones who do the actual work for the wealthy!"

Yup. And the polls bear out that most Americans are waking up to the fact that the Republicans have done them wrong. They want someone who will fight for them. They want someone who will be fair. They want someone who won't say we don't have a penny for the middle class but we've got trillions to blow on tax cuts for the super-rich and wars in the Middle East.

As the title of this thread goes, it's the economy economy economy economy driving the votes this election:

"The same survey showed the economy was by far the top Election Day issue. Six in 10 voters said so, and none of the other top issues — energy, Iraq, terrorism and health care — was picked by more than one in 10."

Americans know who performed horribly on the economy over the past 8 years. Hint: it wasn't the ones not running the show during the time. There was no leadership. There were failures. The Republicans deregulated us into the worst economic crisis since the Great Depression. People want a government that works for them, not just the super rich.
