Amazing that anyone supporting the GOP would complain about money being raised and spent on the the campaign. Bush clobbered Gore and Kerry in money raised, the RNC clobbered the DNC in money raised, until this year.
There was never a promise to take part in public financing, only an agreement that he would negotiate with the McCain campaign on it.
Like most things, McCain and his supporters were for it before they were against it.

No I wasn't LOL at you, not my intent to be rude.
Who expects the government to solve your problems? If you don't want something akin to a handout, you don't HAVE to accept it. Good for you, I too expect no handouts.
But if you're a Republican, we as taxpayers have HAD TO ACCEPT giving Wall Street almost a trillion dollars and watch the Republicans exercise the largest display of socialism this country has ever seen.
Ok to give CEO's bonuses of almost 70 billion dollars but health care for all americans, that's ridiculous!

As far as the actual issues I'm about evenly split between the two (according to the various tests and quizes linked on the board), something of a consequence of being a moderate/independent I suppose.
I took the quizzes ... was neck and neck in some.
Well, good luck with the candidate of your choice.
Obama is raising the bulk of his money from us little guys, not from the huge corporations and lobbyists that contribute so generously to the RNC. He was smart to reneg on his promise.(Link anyone? i thought he promised to DISCUSS it, but he did not actually promise to accept public financing.) The fact that the 527s aren't as influential this election does not negate the fact that Obama and his advisors are intelligent enough to have recognized the threat they pose.
And the election hasn't occurred yet. We might see a flood of 527 ads in the remaining days.
With the overload of negative ads and lies spewed by the GOPers, I think he is perfectly justified in spending whatever we peons choose to contribute to defend himself. Had the RNC and McCain's campaign focused on the issues and had they not run a disgustingly negative campaign, we might agree that Obama is spending too much money. But the way things are going, I'd say he NEEDS to be spending as much as he is.
