Over the past week, the income level that qualified as "rich" has been lowered by the Democrats:

There are least three errors in your post, two in reasoning, the other in fact.

With so many loopholes in the tax code, the U.S. does NOT truly have the second highest tax load on corporations. I'm amused that those who rail against socialism (the latest GOP scare-word which seems to have supplanted "WMD"), are not asking what tax codes are like in socialist countries and how they could possibly have lower corporate tax rates than the U.S.! Makes NO sense whatsoever.

And who's been in charge of the executive branch entirely for eight years and dominated the legislative branch, since 1994? Surely, your concern must focus on the GOP! Even after the 2006 elections, the Democrats don't have enough votes to pass veto-proof legislation without support from Republicans. Hmmmm..... So the threat that corporations might take their business elsewhere under a Democratic president and Congress is empty. Paper tiger stuff.

Regarding the link between actions and consequences, what you termed behaviors and rewards, that would be the crux of my earlier post point. The GOP has governed so lamentably that giving their candidates yet another chance to screw the country royally just does not sound like accountability, AT ALL, to me. Humans ought to be able to reason and not just be conditioned, a la Pavlov, to salivate at the sight of "food" or tremble in fear at scare words and goofy GOP candidates.

Keep the dog trainer position open--Sarah ought to do quite well given her experience with the programmed base.

And the 40% number would include all low-income seniors like my mother, as well as younger Americans who cannot work because of a disability.

Does that 40% number include children? The wording is 40% of ALL Americans, not adult Americans. Are they counting everyone who has a SS number as an American?

Sheds a little different light on the plight of the top-income filers who are forced to carry that heavy burden, doesn't it?

That 42,000 is a LIE, it has been debunked hundreds of times.

Even a single person making that gets a refund. A married couple with 2 children making 50-75,000 get 1,000 back. It is a LIE, a bald headed lie, one that

No kidding.... I was just wondering why the heck we had to PAY 15K last year..... our situation may not be exactly the same as what she described.... but that is one giant leap.
