I here type from memory these great and immortal words of President Lincoln, a true Republican, as proof of the ignorance and ingratitude of those small Fox Republican officials and politicians (fops) who would so defame this great nation so dedicated to the principle of equality.

"Four score and seven years ago, our Fathers brought forth on this continent a new nation, conceived in liberty and dedicated to the proposition that all men are created equal.

Now we are engaged in a great civil war testing whether that nation, or any nation, so conceived and so dedicated can long endure. We are met on a great battlefied of that war. We have come to dedicate a portion of that field as the final resting place for those who here gave their lives that that nation might live. It is altogether fitting and proper that we should do this.

But in a large sense we cannot dedicate, we cannot consecrate, we cannot hallow this ground. The brave men, living and dead, who struggled here have consecrated it far above our poor power to add or detract. The world will little note nor long remember what we say here, but it can never forget what they did here. It is for us the living, rather, to be dedicated here to the great unfinished work that those who fought here have thus far so nobly advanced. Not sure where you get your info about being the most charitable nation, or do you count the billions we spend in Iraq and other wars, destroying the infrastructure of those countries in the process, as being charitable? Or are you not looking at aid as a % of GNI/GDP? Do you really expect a tiny country like Luxembourg to give as much in absolute dollars as a country as large as the U.S.? Is that how you deem the U.S. to be the most generous?

* USA’s aid, in terms of percentage of their GNP has almost always been lower than any other industrialized nation in the world, though paradoxically since 2000, their dollar amount has been the highest. (Only since 2004 have they move up from last place, by just one or two places.)
