Misogyny and the left

This election has been a revelation for me - I never suspected this much latent sexism existed on the left.
This does not mean my outlook shifts right, hardly... but as a feminist, it does open my eyes to the extent of change needed in this country.
Raising the issue is frequently met with hostility and derision by those who openly espouse misogynist viewpoints.
The best way to promote a liberal cause is not by tearing others down. Obama's very message is for this to end, and that he will help facilitate bringing it to an end.
If one is for Obama, then it might be nice to consider that aspect of his message.

xo, how many mornings did I want to just strangle her? What gave me heart was many people wrote into our editor to complain about her. It's one thing to bring up a person's negatives but I do believe she has crossed a line to being very hateful. And the way she would just fawn over Obama was truly sickening. Someone actually wrote in saying that she was acting like a "lovestruck teenager" LOL but it was true. I think she needs some therapy.
I didn't mention the right because we always assume so much misogyny is of the right, at least that used to be my assumption. Now... I see it runs across the entire political spectrum.
Great to see assumptions being overruled by reality, isn't it?
Good for you, to keep addressing this..... not that I'm surprised you did
THANK YOU!
We can only be said to be alive in those moments when our hearts are conscious of our treasures.
Same could be said for those voting for Obama because he is black.
Is there sexism still out there?
Exactly!
How about all the questioning of what she wears (and its costs),
