Misogyny and the left

This election has been a revelation for me - I never suspected this much latent sexism existed on the left.

This does not mean my outlook shifts right, hardly... but as a feminist, it does open my eyes to the extent of change needed in this country.

Raising the issue is frequently met with hostility and derision by those who openly espouse misogynist viewpoints.

The best way to promote a liberal cause is not by tearing others down. Obama's very message is for this to end, and that he will help facilitate bringing it to an end.

If one is for Obama, then it might be nice to consider that aspect of his message.

They thought they had a better chance of electing a black man given their base make up than a woman even though they have lots of liberal women members.

With the conditions of the moment? I'd guess she would have a similar if not greater lead. It matters not now, but she was treated unfairly, as was Sarah. There was plenty in Sarah's stances on issues to dis without going after her family life.

If I had been voting, it wouldn't have been Hillary's gender that would have stopped me....but the Cinton baggage she was carrying around.

It has nothing to do with sexism - a man in the same exact circumstances would have rightfully fallen under the same scrutiny.

OK let's go with "it's sexism"....... Please share when/where Obama/Biden/McCain have been questioned ad nauseum

Misogyny is the hatred of women. To express one opinions about the opinions of a particular women is not misogyny.

Could you post the quotes from Dowd's column which specifically expressed a hatred or extreme prejudice against women? I'm not a regular reader of Dowd but I'm interested in you observation.

I hate that Hillary experienced sexism, and
