I missed it due to a graduate class :( so I wondered if anyone else had seen it. I was surprised not to see anything posted here about it. If you did watch it what did you think? Good? Bad? Valuable info? Waste of time? Are you planning to watch McCain later tonight?

I'll explain to you.

Tax plan: McCain's tax plan helps everyone. He's not raising taxes on anyone. And he's cutting taxes on businesses. Cutting taxes for all businesses encourages businesses to operate in America, and to keep operating in America. Businesses don't pay taxes- if their taxes go up, they just pass the cost along to the consumer or they cut employees. They don't lower their bottom line. So, by cutting taxes for businesses, jobs will be created.

McCain is not offering free money for anyone, you're right on that one. But then again, what would you rather have-- a good job, or $500/year from the government?

For the first 6 years, the economy was great. In the past two, the economy has tanked. It just so happens that in the past 2 years, we've had a Democratic congress...

Not blaming the Dems totally, but it's so disingenuous to say that it's Bush's fault the economy tanked.

I'm not a huge fan of Bush. He did a lot of things wrong. But the economy isn't his fault. If you want to blame someone, blame the Fanny and Feddie fiasco.

Oh wait but Obama wrote a letter about that! I mean, he must have forgotten he was a US Senator who could actually, oh, I don't know write a bill and propose legislation. He wrote a letter!

I have to disagree with that theory because I think if you continue to give big corporations tax cuts like we have been, what makes you think they will be willing to create more jobs in US if they haven't already? I know a lot of big corporations (bb for one) that go to another country like India and get cheap labor to do their technical computer work. And Obama's plan would diminish that practice, by making sure companies are taxed more if they do that. His plan also says he would reward companies that create jobs in the US.

Giving tax breaks to middle working class would be helpful for people to be able to afford healthcare, their mortgage, family leave, etc.
