Uh, hate to point this out, but we had all that under Clinton too.

We can be unhappy with the things the President does control (like getting us into a needless war) and still appreciate the things our local and state governments provide (like water and safety personnel).

>No one is really giving him credit for how we as a nation survived 9/11. Why not?<

Surviving one tragedy does not a successful presidency make.

Seriously, what do you remember about Carter? Most folks will remember him for the Iran hostage crisis and the misery index. The senior George Bush is remembered for promising no new taxes and reneging on the promise. Clinton will mostly be remembered for Monica Lewinsky and the balanced budget. This Bush will be remembered for starting out strong and ending a failure, with the economy tanking and the US involved in two overseas conflicts.

Bill Clinton went out with a recession for President Bush to deal with. He failed to respond to several terrorist attacks. He presided over the largest tax increase in American history.

There was no recession - technically - just like now there is no "recession" technically...

Yet those aren't the big things he'll be remembered for.

What do you think Nixon is going to be remembered for: the fact that he opened up China to the US or Watergate?

Depends on who you talk to. I remember those tax increases quite well.

Hmm, can you please provide data on that? I'm not really seeing this huge increase you're talking about. In fact, Reagan increased taxes more.

And you're not going to see them, 'cause it didn't happen.
