Obama spent a half hour on what--did he mention even ONE thing he has actually done?

Well...the complaint was that Obama's campaign chose a television commercial which highlighted what the candidate sees and proposes and not what the candidate has done.

I'm getting the impression that you won't be voting for Obama.

I'll ask again ... what has he done in a leadership role while in senate?

I think you'll have to ask elsewhere.

I think you'll have to ask elsewhere ok I have entered this thread to express my opinion that it was Obama's campaign that decided to run that advertisement which does not go over his legislative history.

Ok, I'm going to go out on a limb here. I like Obama. I like his temperment. I do, he doesn't get ruffled, antsy, or pissy. I like his open-mindedness. He seems like he is not afraid to take advice or give something a second thought. I think he is compassionate. Remember, he is young and idealistic. He hasn't been sucked dry by the system yet as he's only been in the senate for a short time. He really thinks he can change this country for the better; he is sure of himself. To me, he seems confident without being overly smug. He's intelligent. I find him very appealing.

OP said you can find on the internet what he has done in terms of sponsored bills, where the bills are at this time, which have passed committee, which have passed the Senate, and which have become law. What exactly would you have liked him to have done? I wasn't happy when he joined the race. I felt it was too soon for Obama. I wished he would've just waited till next time, but he didn't. I voted for Hilary and was very angry when she didn't get in. I was ready to vote for McCain, but as time has gone on I see that I think that Obama is the better choice.

But that's just me and my opinion and I know that.

In the commercial they talked about his work on the foreign relations commitee and working on lose nuke legislation. They talked about his interegating Condelezza Rice while she was testifying in front of congress. Many people talked in that informercial about his work in the senate and how he came in and immediatly reached across the aisle and jumped into the very important foreign relations commitee. He could have talked for 30 minutes about what he has done but people want to hear what he's going to do to make things better. They want to know when things will turn arouond and how he is going to make changes. That is what people care about.

About those people he used in his infomercial, the need to all be looked into to be sure they are who they say they are, You know like was done to Joe the plumber.

The one woman who had to cut down on snacks for the kids, maybe that'd be a healthier why to be.

The guy that is not getting the pension he thought he would when he retired, that sounds like the SS system we have today.
