She's a well-educated idiot who thinks that calling a weekly staff meeting and signing checks on Thursdays somehow qualifies her to be vice president.

...many so-called feminists are not feminists at all - they are single issue advocates for abortion.

While I've no doubt that there are women out there who would fit this description, I would say they are nowhere near as ubiquitous as your post attempts to portray them.

Nevertheless, a woman's right to be able to choose what she can do with her own body, her actual physical being, has always been central to the role of equality for women. There's a reason why one of the old clichés about women is "barefoot and pregnant": it's not the lack of proper shoes that has historically kept women at a disadvantage to men in most respects, it's the "pregnant" part of that sentence. Many women will never need to access their right to reproductive choice....but there's an ENORMOUS gap between not using it or not needing it....and not HAVING it, and KNOWING you don't have it if you DO need it.

Indeed, can you think of any other vulnerable group (of race, ethnicity, handicap or political persuasion) that people of decency would have so readily looked the other way if a similar display had been created using them as the target?

Certainly I can - when the old man with the "Little Hussein" monkey appeared in that video outside the Palin rally, I thought much the same thing as I did when I saw that mannequin dressed as Palin hanging in West Hollywood.

I'm talking about her touting her experience as a small-town mayor being sufficient to make her competent to be vice president.

"AND she has done all of this without sacrificing her femininity or making men her enemy.

But you are impressed with someone who touts their experience as a "community organizer" in a small Chicago neighborhood that is no better off now than it was when said community organizer began organizing?

Did you think it a given that someone who doesn't think Palin qualified is an Obama supporter?
