I erred. I misread the article. But Palin DOES support abstinence only education.

My example? I will admit that Palin's career is an inspiration to women. But as a politician she is hardly a feminist. She doesn't support core feminist policies like equal pay, universal health care, family leave, and reproductive choice.

no she doesn't ... she didn't support explicit sex-ed but in 06 clarified that she supported bc taught in schools b/c too many kids didn't learn it at home.

Running for governor of Alaska in 2006, Sarah Palin filled out a questionnaire that asked if she’d support funding for abstinence-until-marriage programs instead of “explicit sex-education programs, school-based clinics and the distribution of contraceptives in schools?”

Palin wrote, “Yes, the explicit sex-ed programs will not find my support.”

In the US, women do NOT have to retreat to their homes and give up all other activities upon learning they are pregnant.

I could care less about people's personal assumptions. What I said is if you want to claim that Palin is a feminist because of her family and work, then I am allowed to critize her decisions as I mentioned before.

And we were not talking about Biden here, you brought him up. And as far as I remember, his supporters are not claiming he is some kind of saint.

I rather like the lesbianesque title. Some of us might enjoy this. ;-)

There is nothing wrong with a career woman, like Palin, with five children and a SAH dad.

In my opinion, SP has shown she is unqualified to be VP because:

1) She does not understand the 1st amendment.
2) She does not understand the role of the VP.
3) She does not understand world affairs.
4) She does not understand how government in the other 49 states works.
5) She allows herself to be a Rove puppet.
6) She could not readily come up with the name of a single newspaper she reads.
7) She thinks only people who think like she does are REAL Americans.
8) She does not believe climate change is caused by human behavior.
9) She accuses a U.S. senator of palling around with terrorists.
10) There are too few minorities at her rallies.
11) She lacks intelligence.
12) She has abused her positions of authority.

None of the above has anything to do with feminism.
