Seriously, what's your deal with JM's health plan?
Even B.O's advisers have suggested the exact same plan. We've talked about it ad nauseum on this board. Everytime anyone says anything you bring this up. And each time, you sound less and less like you know what you're talking about.
His plan will not raise your taxes. It will not cause your employer to quit offering health care. And he did say he would work on pre-existing conditions. No one can make anyone cover pre-existing conditions. Not even Barack Obama. He can try- which is basically all he promised, and is the exact same thing JM promised.
For all the nonsensical rhetoric on how great Europe seems to be taking care of its citizens versus the US (healthcare & education), very few realize a higher tax rate comes into play at much lower wage levels
At $52k Euros, the income tax rate ALONE is 45% (GERMANY)
I've spoken with other people from Great Britian & France who now live in the US, and they do not wish to return to their homeland.
So, just what are people with pre-exhisting conditions supposed to do? Do without ins? DIE? Please tell me, I'd really like to know. My son works with a young man who got himself into a fight with another, he is a minority(hispanic). He says they guy is a good guy, hard worker, just got mouthy with some other guy and he beat the stuffing out of him, anyway, my son says his face is swollen and he can hardly talk, but he can't go to the Hospital to be checked out because he just started working there and has no ins. I told my son, his jaw could be broken, he should go, the Er HAS to check him out, they will take his situation under consideration, probably bill him and ask he pay a little at a time.
There are a lot of people with pre-exhisting conditions, my son being one of them, both myself and my Dh also. For an Ins company to refuse or rake a person over the coals making them pay through the nose isn't fair either. It is people who have no ins at all and the Hospitals know it is more like a snowballs chance in hell to ever get paid for services performed on a non-insured person that drives up costs, and Administrative costs whoch is a HUGE part of the rising costs!
