John McCain has stated that his interpretation of the constitution is that the Constitution establishes the US as a "Christian Nation".

Do you agree with his assesment. Does the Constitution establish a "Christian Nation" ?
My understanding is that the establishment of religion is forbidden by the first amendment.

I think I'll stick with Obama, I prefer democracy over theocracy.

Me four..I too will stick with Obama! I'm a Christian and I also believe in democracy over theocracy. When you mix religion and government, democracy gets distorted.

And some of us are free from slavery because the Constitution is not static, and some of us are entitled to the same rights and responsiblities as the rest of us because the Supreme Court "activist judges" interpret laws differently now than they did a hundred years ago.

Because I do read the Declaration of Indepedence and the Constitution I could never vote for a candidate who wishes to put forth a constitional amendment that would ban marriage between same sex couples.

Sorry, but I thought you wanted to talk about race and gender. Would you clarify what reading the constitution has to do with race and gender?

I have read it, thank you. It is still not clear to me what you mean about race and gender.
