Sarah Palin speaks on the First Amendment

(updated below - Update II - Update III)

Somehow, in Sarah Palin's brain, it's a threat to the First Amendment when newspapers criticize her negative attacks on Barack Obama.

You know it is laughable when the left posts that Palin is dumb, yet their VP candidate doesn't know that JOBS is a 4 letter word.

This is beyond dumb -- it shows a complete lack of understanding of the 1st Amendment.

No, all those other dumb comments were all a fluke. Surprise!

What a coincidence that a candidate so thoughtless also can't name a Supreme Court case she disagrees with other than Roe v. Wade (which she was being asked about at the time).

Once again, she proves she is so not ready for prime time.

I don't know I just don't see the 'pretty bright' part. Certainly she has some 'self preservation' sense, and some 'manipulate the situation' sense, maybe even some common sense. But intellectual intelligence? I don't see any real evidence of it. She just hasn't done anything that would show me that she has the intelligence to lead our country, even in the second in command position. I think one of the hallmarks of that kind of intelligence would be the intelligence to know when you are lacking in a critical area of knowledge and then being able to do something about it. She seems to have this habit of just opening her mouth and letting words just fall out - whether they make sense or not. I am beginning to think that they really think we are stupid - or they just hope we are. No wonder NCLB was never fully funded - republicans don't want education to succeed for every child - just an excuse to provide vouchers so they can put their kids in private schools at taxpayer expense.

<<I think she is really pretty bright -- but horribly poorly educated and almost wilfully unknowledgable about the institutions and government she supposedly wants to represent.>>

Just wanted to disagree with you on this.

I agree with your interpretation now that I understand it better. I am curious about your name - songwright. Are you a song writer? The reason I ask is that my son just declared his major in college as songwriting. Wondered if that is what you do and if so how hard is it to break into? Just mommy worries.

<< I actually don't think she is 'dumb'. I think she is really pretty bright>>

Did you insert "bright" by mistake? I think the "pretty" subconsciously made your fingers type the "bright". If she were ugly do you think you'd still be saying she is bright? If she were MALE would you say HE is bright?
