Obama's aunt, the one he mentions in his memoirs, is living illegally in the United States in PUBLIC HOUSING!

I'm wondering how many Americans keep an eye on and/or support distant relatives they do not know well – if at all. I have relatives on both sides of my family who I’ve met or seen once or twice at large family function, a funeral, wedding, etc.

He lets his half brother live in a hut in Africa, why not his aunt illegally in public housing?

"Is he supposed to turn in his aunt? "

He has stomped in the area of claiming what makes America great at the fundamental level is the idea that “I am my brother’s / sister’s keeper.” We see how he lives that philosophy.

Well he apparently knew her well enough to invite her to his inaugeration ceremony in 2004. How many people invite family members they "barely know" and live in other countries to attend major events?

I think the big fuss over this is because the Conservatives want to continue to bash Obama and connect Obama with anything they possibly can.

find it hard to believe that Obama didn't know about this. Also, that he let his own flesh and blood live under those conditions at tax payer's expense!

>>The Obama's are not among the super rich and have no obligation to support every leaf on their family tree. It is evident the family is not close, he has no obligation to keep track of every member of his family any more than you have a financial obligation to every member of your family, yet. (By the way did you know that Thumond Munson's mother was on welfare?)

This could change is McCain wins. There are a lot of conservative Republicans, who advocate that children should be financially responsible for their parents. The expectation is that children should take in their elderly parents and care for them. No more nursing homes you get to keep them.

I'll not suggest how people vote, though I will say how I will vote and strongly suggest people vote.

'The one we need' is a flawed view of our choices, for the one we need is the one we elect, and right now that is Obama or McCain.

Our greatest president likely was FDR, yet many did not like him, either. I disliked the Reagan presidency, though I always stated my view he seemed a nice guy; same for Ford, same for Carter, both probably better than those that came immediately before or after.

I worry about McCain in that he will be impossible for staffers and those in Congress to deal with; I suspect an increasingly intransigent Congress, some Republicans included, who will basically tell him to go to hell if he belittles them, which is rather likely to happen.

I support Obama, because he is the antithesis of this, far more likely to work with others, far more likely to listen to others, and empathy is one of the most underrated and underapplied of human skills. That said, I don't think in terms of need, because we can only guess our need ad who has the creativity to see to it.

McCain would stay in Iraq until hell freezes over, simply because he will base decisions not on the best interests of this country, but on a win lose dynamic. He has flailed at the wind over the last two months, desparation evident, and presidents should never, ever exhibit desparation.

His 300 billion assist homeowner plan is something he would have roundly dissed had one of his Republican primary opponents proposed it, and he did that simply to fetch votes. If he really liked that idea, he would have been in Washington behind the scenes, mouth shut about campaign suspensions, quietly working on that arrangement within his own party - because that is where it needed to be sold, and that is *when* it needed to be sold, not on the campaign trail.

He proposes budget freezes in most areas, well knowing he can't touch national debt interest, medicare payments, etc.

He calls out his opponent as socialist, an inane cry that makes no sense and has no bearing on the major issues of this election - but he knows his only shot at winning is to scare people into thinking Obama is some sort of devil about to lay waste to America.

I've long respected McCain on some levels, though I value not anger. We all have our faults. More than anything, his conduct post Republican convention has been reprehensible, and quite frankly, the better half of the ticket is Sarah - and I don't agree with about anything she stands for.

His aunt doesn't belong in any of the 50 states. She belongs back in Kenya, and was ordered deported years ago.

And you know this how? Immigration dept is not commenting on her legal status, or anyone's for that matter. So please tell me how you know she was ordered to be deported? Interesting how you blame another family member, and not the immigration department for not catching her specially since they know her address of living. LOL

Haven’t heard this in McCain’s platform.
