Obama's aunt, the one he mentions in his memoirs, is living illegally in the United States in PUBLIC HOUSING!

I am requesting that when you are totally, completely off topic, that you begin a thread of your own.

You don't consider your husband to be your family ?

Hmmmmm, interesting.

BTW, the disclosure of Obama's far flung half aunt was probobly illegal.

However, I doubt that you will be at all outraged for this violation.

Without finishing reading this thread, I hope I'm not out of line, but I think Sandy has very fairly, and objectively, refused to judge this situation and has repeatedly said it is not something that speaks for or against Obama's character.

Knowing that she is a McCain supporter, and not particularly fond of Obama as a presidential candidate, I want to support her unbiased position on this.

You brought your aunts and uncles into the discussion. You stated that you knew where they all lived, and from that you made the leap of logic that Obama knows where his aunt lives.

And it is a half aunt through a now deceased father, who abandoned him at birth. It's not to much of a stretch to say he didn't know her whereabouts.

I don't know where all my relatives live. And I wouldn't presume that ANYONE has the same EXACT knowledge of their families whereabouts as I do about mine.

Yes, I too think Sandy is commendable in how she presents her views on this board, that is why I was puzzled that she stated that Obama's relationship with his aunt was "close enough" to get mentioned in the book, and what EXACTLY what point she was trying to make with that statement. From there on, it was nothing but waffling.

>>How did he know where to send the invitation to his inaugeration?<<

I've read that she attended, not that she received a special invitation. It is a public event. Thousands of people attended. Even if she were somehow on his Christmas card list, an address is an address. Section 8 housing projects are just street addresses, you don't send mail labeled "TO THE ILLEGAL ALIEN WELFARE RECIPIENT IN 4B."

If your aunt lived 400 miles from where you lived during working weeks, or 900 miles from your usual home, if you had little contact and were unaware, would it be fair to assign you culpability?

In this case, it sounds like the government is already well aware and handling things through *administrative* processes.

There is no story here. None.
