Obama's aunt, the one he mentions in his memoirs, is living illegally in the United States in PUBLIC HOUSING!

i just cut a friendship with someone that is a section 8 player. divorced mother of 1. capable of working. tries to get all that she can from her ex dh, expects him to take care of her as well as her daughter. daughter goes to school. she lives in idaho where the job market is still good. chooses not to work because she makes more money not working. if she goes to work, her ex husband will cut the amount he gives her, and she has it figured that if she goes back to work she will lose her section 8. I think she said she pays about 35 a month. she bought a car with a credit card, then filed bankruptcy. still has the car. has been "robbed" conveniently about 4 times since i have known her. then files with her insurance company. some things don't add up. then on the other side, i used to work with a single mom who was out working trying to make ends meet who didn't rely on anything except for a discounted rent through her aunt, who owned the house. she eventually went on to open her own business and as far as i know, she is successful with it. i guess the drive is different for different people.

Then why don't you report her if you know she is a "player."

I did give him a fair chance, I watched the Convention and I have listened to Sarah Palin. And I did not hear anything about how they would change my life. A college graduate, still trying to secure a good job in this economy. I consider myself middle class or at least trying to get to that point. And I am tired of some of the talks on this board how Obama is going to help the poor section 8 people. And that is not true, he is going to help the working americans like me. Bush has only gotten us into a bigger mess than we were 8 years ago. I do not want a continuation of those 8 years. No way!

And I think that McCain picked a wrong person for his VP, he did not veto his decision, and picked blindly in my opinion. Meeting someone once in life, and picking them to be a VP is bizarre in my opinion. If he had picked someone with more experience, he would not be down by double digits in some of the states. You can go after Obama all you want, it is not going to change anybody's mind. What I would like talk about is how these two candidates would change OUR lives, and not what kind of picture you can find out there to fit your agenda!

Well I am glad you think that.

"Democrats want to keep them poor by throwing $500 a year at them." How is throwing $500 per year at them keeping them poor? It adds up to $9.62 per week, not exactly a disincentive to work so how is it keeping them poor?

Because the way I figure it $500 per year will pay for 1 gallon of milk per week, 1 loaf of bread per week, and about 2 gallons of gas per week.

I am a Obama supporter, and I do not believe he did not know his aunt was living in the country illegally.
