McCain and the Constituion

According to McCain, the constitution of the US establishes that America is a Christian Nation.

Do you agree ? If so, please cut and paste the portion of THE CONSTITUTION that establishes our country as a Christian Nation. Also, explain how the Constitution can establish ANY religion, when the first amendment expressly forbids this.

Since McCain is supposed to running for an office to UPHOLD the constitution, how do you feel about his understanding of it ?

And if you agree that the Constitution has already established America as a Christian Nation, what does that do to the citizenship status of Non-Christians ? Are non-Christians to be treated equally under the law in a Christian Nation ?

Since I prefer democracy over THEOCRACY, I'll stick with Obama.

The First Amendment is fairly short and an easy read, maybe McCain doesn't read either?
For anyone not familiar here is the First Amendment:

"Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances. "

So I don't think this exactly established the United States as a 'Christian' nation, maybe a nation that has Christians, but other religious faiths as well.

I am also concerned that Pastor Muthee, the man that Palin CREDITS for her political success has given her marching orders to invade the government for God. One of the areas that he wants "invaded for God" is economics. He says that the wealth of the wicked is stored up for the righteous, and that he wants to see our economics system run by Christians. I suppose he wants his own "wealth re-distribution" system, and he is counting on Palin to do his invading.

This is a man who considers non-Christians to be so wicked that he and his supporters have bragged publicly about how he ran a "witch" named Mama Jane out of town. He emplohyed the police to raid her home, kill her pet snake, and when she declared that she would either become a Christian or leave town. The people in her village wanted to stone her to death, after Muthee accused her of causing car accidents (supernaturally) near her home. Muthee proudly brags about how he whipped up primitive superstitious hysteria against this woman and ran her out to town.

This is the man that Palin credits with supernaturally starting her political career. The thought of her coupled with a theocrat like McCain, who believes that the constituion has ALREADY established our nation as a Christian Nation is very scary indeed.

Yes, and anyone who has not seen this video of Palin receiving the prayers of the self-proclaimed witch hunter pastor really needs to watch it. She is happy to stand there after this dude goes on an antisemitic conspiracy theory rant about how his religious group needs to take over the government and Palin is the one to do it.

The only other part of the Constitution that mentions religion is Article VI:

The Senators and Representatives before mentioned, and the Members of the several State Legislatures, and all executive and judicial Officers, both of the United States and of the several States, shall be bound by Oath or Affirmation, to support this Constitution; but no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States.

I think between that and the First Amendment, that pretty much makes it clear that the Constitution doesn't make this a "Christian" nation.

Here is an old Worldnet daily article bragging about Muthee's witch hunting. There are other aritcles on the net from Christian websites bragging about he ran "the witch" out of town.

I wonder if this type of scapegoating is what Muthee has in mind for America, and if he expects Palin to implement it ?

Here's another link to more "Christian" bragging about how this bully scapegoated a local fortune teller and her run out of town.

http://www.prayerlinksministries.com/Question3.htm

Here's an excerpt from the link
The Liberation of Kiambu

The addition of armor bearers to the strategy of intercession brought about the liberation of Kiambu. Muthee issued the challenge: "Mama Jane either gets saved and serves the Lord or she leaves town!" Many of Mama Jane's clients began to become Christians and burned their charms and fetishes in public. The public was suddenly enlightened to what was happening and began to suspect it was more than coincidence that Mama Jane's Emmanuel Clinic was near the site of the mysterious auto accidents. When a subsequent accident claimed the lives of three children, public outrage led to police involvement. They visited Mama Jane, saw that she had a huge python in one of her rooms, and shot the snake. They took Mama Jane in for questioning and then released her. She decided to pack up and leave town.

That is a rather surprising video, and that 'carry on the Judeo-Christian principles' or whatever sent chills up my back, wondering if it was a veiled attempt to tap the stuff about Obama and Islam.

This stuff is sensitive for me, with yet more recent discoveries of ancestors accused in the Salem Witch Trials, now standing at
