By tomorrow: Cindy McCain's sister's cousin's friend's dog groomer is voting for...

We could consider the governor of California, and the split vote playing out there.

This sounds like a classic case of sour grapes.

If you had a sister who claimed to be an "only child", would you feel jealous? No..you would probably

Oh for pity's sake, stop with the "Cindy lied" crap about her status as an only child.

If she did not grow up with this half sister, then she was essetially an only child.

I still have occasional contact with my step son from a first marriage, and his wife and kids. I love them all dearly, but usually when people ask me how many children I have, I say "one". I don't consider that to be a lie.

I am no McCain supporter, but I think this kind of petty nitpicking is just ridiculous. And it's every bit as ridicuolous when it's leveled at the McCains as it is when leveled at the Obama's.

you are right. my husband has two half siblings but on his dad's side of the family, he is the only child. where do we draw the line? it's like grasping at straws, you aren't going to change anyone's mind on this board posting nonsense like this, especially with the election so close.

Actually, if we are going to start counting "half siblings" then no one can say with absolute certainty that they are an only child.

It is possible to have half siblings and not even know about it.

Should people start prefacing every statement they make about their place in the family with "As far as I know. . . "

that might work!! with morals being on a downturn and people not knowing who they have been with, and what has resulted (watched maury lately? *LOL*) who knows how many half siblings any one has....i can tell you that my children have the same father, but i assume he has never strayed, and who's to say i'm right about it? we just don't know, secrets are held from us from everyone, from the gov't to our own family. the statement sounds like it could work to take the liability from anyone at any time!

Actually, all that is beside the point.
