Why be worried? Unless....you are doing something illicit.

>>Wrong, on blaming the company. In this instance I know the owners of the company and the system administrator and they DID NOT request this type of oversight.

Some superliberal must have built this in.<<

Um, if you have a company and let someone program something into it that you didn't approve, it IS your fault. It's irresponsible to leave this up to others and just wring your hands when something unexpected happens after launch. Perhaps it was just a miscommunication with the vendor, but even still -- those in charge of IT should have been more aware of what was being installed. Would you kindly share this company name (and location) so I can be sure a) that this story is true and b) that I never do business with them? I wouldn't want to give access to my private information to any company so negligent.

The story seriously sounds bizarre -- an email sent notifying the sys admin that he'd been sexually harassing someone? What software program did they install? (Specific names, please. If you're buddies with the owners, surely you should be able to find this information, and would want to spread the words, so others don't install it...)

Anyway, I also find it bizarre that you think super liberals would want to censor things. In my experience, conservatives (except for the very far right wingers, who also tend to be pro-first amendment) are the ones who want to put things like safety searches on computers, and get up in arms about language or graphic imagery on TV. (How many people who called to complain they'd been scarred by seeing Janet Jackson's nipple on television were Obama supporters, do you think?) Certainly the kids who hacked into Palin's emails weren't pro-censorship. You can't blame all the ills of the world on the liberals.

I am very bothered by censorship when it comes from a government level, but within a small company, I just shrug and say that's an example of poor management.
