Imagine if John McCain had whispered somewhere that he was willing to bankrupt a major industry? Would this declaration not immediately be front page news? Well, Barack Obama actually flat out told the San Francisco Chronicle (SF Gate) that he was willing to see the coal industry go bankrupt in a January 17, 2008 interview. The result? Nothing. This audio interview has been hidden from the public...until now. Here is the transcript of Obama's statement about bankrupting the coal industry (emphasis mine):

>>Coal supplies most of this country's electricity. It is cheap, realiable (unlike wind), and it can be clean.<<
I read your link and it looks like that is what he wants...clean coal if any. I read several other of the blog reports and they are all emphasizing the same thing:
"So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can.
It's just that it will bankrupt them."
It doesn't say anything about what is out there now. It states that what will be built (in the future) won't be worth it.
BTW, honestly, I'm never that harsh in my posts...the OP had some statements that I felt were overly exaggerated.
I have no idea.

Obama, in his own words, is talking about bankrupting an ENTIRE industry. Not only that, but he is talking about our electricity rates SKYROCKETING. Will that help our ailing economy? Will that help the hardworking middle class?

You wrote: Where on earth is the MSM on this? This is from January? And we just hear about it now. If I were in the coal industry and had already voted for Obama, I'd be livid. All Americans should have known his position on this months ago - especially coal industry workers.
I'm shocked that this has not been picked up by the MSM!
