An independent review of the case (read that no political axes to grind) has found that Sarah Palin did NOT violate any ethics laws or any other laws in the case involving her brother in law and the firing of the Public Service Commissioner.

I'd say I hate to say I told you so, but I don't.

The AEEA addresses SOME ethics, not all by any stretch of the imagination.

The law addresses the law, and the ethics of the person.

And by those of us who are not Obama supporters.

Can you list the specifics in this case where the law didn't address the issues?

Hi Melanie,

Perhaps you could take a look at this link when you have a moment and consider a bit what constitutes an "independent" investigation.

http://tpmmuckraker.talkingpointsmemo.com/2008/11/trooper-gate_report_initiated.php

I will highlight one fact from the article:

"Of course, this was an investigation that Palin herself initiated, by filing an ethics complaint against herself. The three members of the Personnel Board are appointed by Palin, and she cooperated with the investigation."

Who exactly was paying this "independent" investigator?

Now also add the date of this press release and the given that the Alaska State Personnel Board has a written policy to keep the results of all investigations private. In fact, although they did have Mrs. Palin´s consent via a waiver of privacy, they did not have waivers from everyone involved in the case, which should be required before making any public statements.

You are free to draw your own conclusions, of course.

Hope you have voted,

Jeanjou
