An independent review of the case (read that no political axes to grind) has found that Sarah Palin did NOT violate any ethics laws or any other laws in the case involving her brother in law and the firing of the Public Service Commissioner.

I'd say I hate to say I told you so, but I don't.

Are we still talking about this woman, Palin? What?

This is an Election day, time to stop bashing, and join the excitement! :-)

They did not agree to the "language of the report" unanimously. In fact, some of them criticized it publicly. They ONLY agreed unanimously to RELEASE the report. The words were partisan hack Branchflower's alone.

This report, hired by the actual board that has jurisdiction makes it clear that the Democrat who submitted the first report was wrong. I can see that you are very disappointed.

And I can see that you are very confused and unknowledgable about the Branchflower Report.

You are partially correct and I stand corrected. The members of the Personnel Board were appointed previously but Governor Palin did, however, reappoint one member at the beginning of this year.

Regarding whether the governor has the power to fire the members of the Personnel Board members, we disagree. I refer to the Alaska Government website which states:

"Members may be removed by the Governor only for cause."
http://www.gov.state.ak.us/boards/factsheet.php?i=077

We all know "cause" is very easy to invent.

As to the Personnel Board´s jurisdiction in this matter, Governor Palin assured that by filing a complaint against herself in the matter. One interesting thing about the how the Personnel Board functions is seen in AS 39.52.370-Personnel Board Action: "Deliberations of the personnel board must be conducted in sessions not open to the public."

If we get into more details of how the proceedings of the Personnel Board work, we will note the role of the Attorney General (replaced by special investigator? I am not clear on this) to provide proof against the accused and the opportunity for both sides of the complaint to respond.

Wait a minute here .... Governor Palin issued the complaint and therefore IS both sides of the complaint. I am sure the Personnel Board acted correctly in front of the information which was presented to them, including the emails from the Governor´s private/public email which she at first refused to present and later presented after a good number of emails had mysteriously disappeared.

All information presented can be checked on the Alaska Government website.

Because he agrees with their agenda.

John McCain has NOT driven the Republican party to the right, if the party could be moved either direction, he would certainly move it to the left. I don't think Palin will be able to move the party anywhere, because the Republicans are so diverse and all inclusive these days. You will find Republican leadership all over the board on social issues. They do remain firm on lower taxes and boosting business and keeping the country strong militarily. Those are things that most Republicans can agree upon regardless of agreement on the social issues.

I am personally no longer registered as a Republican, but my views greatly differ from many Republican views INCLUDING Sarah Palins, but I can still vote for her because she has proven that she follows the law when governing instead of following her own agenda.
