I hope your churches board or deacons or whatever you have for a ruling body help you pastor see how dangerous his prounouncments are for your church which can (and should) lose its tax exempt status for advoating for a political candidate.
As to those chuches who tell folks they aren't welcome due to their policial views?? I appreciate them, they increase visitorship and membership at churches like the one I belong to.
Pastors have a right to their opinion like any other American. They only cannot share those from the pulpit.
Non-profit status was "given" to churches years ago specifically to keep them quiet because the religious are big voters and tended to vote against the politicians who pushed the legislation. Your boss can talk politics, your grocer can put up signs - heck, we have signs all over our gas stations. Only the religious are supposed to give up their free speech.
